Watch the Search page tutorial on YouTube. Follow the steps below when you are ready to try it.
1. Open the Search page
Open Home → Tap the search bar
The Search page helps you find artists and event organizers on Artist Diary. An organizer can look for an artist for a function, while an artist can find organizers or other artists in their area.
2. Enter an art form, location or name
Tap the search box → Type your search → Read the results
The search box shows “Search Actor in Ahmedabad” as an example. You can enter the work you need and a location, or search for an artist or organizer whose name you know.
- Find a mehndi artist in Ahmedabad: try “Mehndi in Ahmedabad”.
- Find a folk artist in Kutch: choose Kutch in the location filters and the folk art form you need.
- Find a singer in Vadodara: try “Singer in Vadodara”.
- Find an actor in Ahmedabad: try “Actor in Ahmedabad”.
Keep the search words simple. If a phrase does not give useful results, use the filters below to choose the location and art form directly.
3. Choose Artist or Organizers
- Artist: use this when you need an artist for a performance or other work.
- Organizers: use this to find event organizers and read their profiles.
- All: use this to see both kinds of profiles.
For example, choose Artist when looking for a singer for a family function. Choose Organizers when you want to learn about organizers in your area and contact one about your work.
4. Set your location to find artists and organizers near you
Tap the filter icon → Choose State → Choose District
Select Taluka if you want to narrow the area further. Choose the state first to see its districts, then choose a district to see its talukas. You can also search within each location list.
To find artists and organizers near you, select your own district or taluka. For example, choose Gujarat and the relevant district for Ahmedabad, Vadodara or Kutch. Check each profile’s saved location before contacting the artist or organizer.
The search uses locations saved on profiles. It does not show the artist’s or organizer’s live location, and a nearby profile does not mean they are available for your event date.
5. Choose a Category
In Filters, tap Category → Select the category you need
Category helps narrow the results to a broad area of work. Look through the category names and choose the one that suits your requirement. You can select more than one category when your search covers different kinds of work.
6. Choose the Art Form name
Tap Art Form → Search for the art form → Select it
Art Form is more specific than Category. Use its search box to find the name shown in the app, then select it. You can select more than one art form if your event needs different kinds of artists.
For a folk programme in Kutch, choose the location and the particular folk art form required. This is more useful than treating every folk artist as suitable for the same performance.
7. Apply your filters
Check your selections → Tap Apply
The app returns to the results with your selected filters. Labels below the search area show the active choices. Check them before browsing, especially if you have changed the event location or the kind of artist you need.
8. Open a profile and review the work
Read a result card → Tap the artist’s or organizer’s profile
A result card shows the profile name, work details and saved location. Open the profile to read more. For an artist, check their art forms and the photos or performance videos shared in Portfolio.
- Work: does the artist’s art form match what your event needs?
- Portfolio: do the shared photos or videos help you understand the performance?
- Location: where is the artist or organizer based?
For example, watch a singer’s shared performance video before making an enquiry. For an organizer, read the available profile details before approaching them. Only shared portfolio folders are visible; some artists may not have added work yet.
9. Contact an artist or organizer by mobile number
Open the profile → Find Mobile Number → Tap the eye icon
When a public, verified mobile number is available, sign in to reveal it. You can then use that number to contact the artist or organizer. A private or unverified number is not shown to visitors.
Before calling an artist about a performance, have your event date, venue and work requirement ready. Search helps you find a suitable profile; you still need to discuss availability and payment directly with the artist.
10. Send a message through Artist Diary
Open the profile → Tap Send Message → Send your request
Sign in and explain why you are contacting the artist or organizer. For a performance enquiry, mention the event date, location and work you need. An artist contacting an organizer can briefly introduce their art form and ask about relevant work.
A first message may be sent as a message request. Wait for a response; sending it does not confirm a booking or team connection. Once the request is accepted, you can continue the conversation through Message.
Message requests are unavailable while your profile or the artist’s or organizer’s profile is private.
11. Change the search if no profiles are found
- Check the spelling of the artist’s name, art form or location.
- Remove a narrow filter, such as Taluka, to search a larger area.
- Use the Art Form list if the words you typed are not recognised.
- Check whether Artist or Organizers is the right choice.
- Use Clear all filters to start again, or Reset filters inside the filter screen.
The results depend on the public profiles available on Artist Diary. A missing result does not mean that no artist or organizer works in that area. They may not have a searchable profile on the platform.
Frequently asked questions
How do I find artists and organizers on Artist Diary?
Tap the search bar on Home. Enter a name, art form or location, choose Artist or Organizers, and use Filters to narrow the results. Open a profile to review the details.
How can I find artists near me?
Choose your state, district and, if needed, taluka in Filters. Select the category or art form you need and tap Apply. Results use saved profile locations rather than live distance.
Can I find a mehndi artist in Ahmedabad?
Try “Mehndi in Ahmedabad”, or choose the Ahmedabad location and the relevant art form in Filters. Results depend on matching public profiles available on Artist Diary.
How do I find a folk artist in Kutch or a singer in Vadodara?
Choose the relevant location and the art form you need, then tap Apply. For singers, you can also try “Singer in Vadodara” in the search box.

Yes, if the artist has shared portfolio folders. Open the profile and review the available photos and videos before deciding whether to make an enquiry.
Why can’t I see an artist’s or organizer’s mobile number?
Sign in to reveal a number that is public and verified. Private or unverified numbers are not shown to visitors. You may be able to use Send Message instead.
Does sending a message confirm a booking?
No. It starts an enquiry or message request. Discuss the date, venue, performance, availability and agreed payment with the artist or organizer before treating the booking as confirmed.
