Your portfolio shows people the work you do. On Artist Diary, you can keep performance photos and videos together in named folders.
Start from Add Portfolio on Home. Choose a Photo folder for pictures or a Video folder for YouTube links.
Watch the portfolio video
Watch Add your Portfolio on YouTube, or play the video below while following this guide.
1. Open Add Portfolio
Sign in as an Artist → On Home, tap Add Portfolio
The folder form opens. If you already have a folder, open Portfolio from the bottom navigation and choose Photos or Videos.
A portfolio lets an organizer see your work before discussing a booking. Start with work that shows your art clearly, such as a stage performance, acting scene or finished artwork. If you already have a suitable folder, open it and add more work there.
2. Choose Photo or Video
- Photo: choose this to upload pictures from your phone.
- Video: choose this to add videos using YouTube links.
Create separate folders for photos and videos. A video file from your phone cannot be uploaded directly in the Video form.
Use Photo when you want an organizer to see pictures of your work. Use Video when the performance needs to be watched, such as dance, singing or acting. Both types can help an organizer understand your work, but they use different ways of adding it.
3. Name your folder
Enter a name under Folder Name. Use a name you can recognise later, such as “Navratri Garba 2026” or “Stage performances”.
Keep photos from the same event together. This helps people understand what they are looking at.
Choose a name that explains the work to an organizer, not just a name that you remember. For example, a folder named “Garba stage performances” tells the organizer what to expect. Keep unrelated work in separate folders when that makes it easier to browse.
4. Choose who can see the folder
- Public Folder: others can see the folder when viewing your profile.
- Private Folder: only you can see the folder.
Choose the setting before creating the folder. A private folder stays hidden from other people, including connected profiles.
Choose Public for work you want to show to artists and organizers visiting your profile. Choose Private for a folder you want to keep for yourself. Making a folder public does not make a private profile visible, so check both settings before sharing.
5. Create the folder
Tap Create Folder. The new folder opens, ready for you to add your work.
For a Photo folder, follow steps 6–7. For a Video folder, follow steps 8–9.
6. Choose photos from your phone
Open your Photo folder → Tap the + button
Choose a photo from your gallery, or use the camera to take one. Allow photo or camera access if your phone asks.
The upload button may say Add Photos or Upload Photo on a larger screen.
Choose photos that show your performance or artwork clearly. A few useful pictures give an organizer more information than several almost identical pictures. For example, choose photos that show different parts of your performance or different pieces of your artwork.
7. Crop and save each photo
Adjust the photo in the crop screen → Tap Save
Cropping means choosing which part of the photo to keep. Make sure your face, artwork or performance is clearly visible.
Wait for the upload confirmation and check that the photo appears in the folder. If you selected several photos, save each one in turn.
For a dance performance, keep the dancer and the important movements inside the crop area. For artwork, keep the full piece visible where possible. This helps an organizer understand the work without losing important details at the edges of the photo.
8. Copy your video’s YouTube link
If your video is only on your phone, upload it to YouTube first. Open that video on YouTube and copy its link using Share.
Use a video that people can watch. A private, deleted or unavailable YouTube video may not play in your portfolio.
Pick a video that shows the performance you want an organizer to consider. Open the YouTube link yourself before adding it to make sure it plays. A link to your YouTube channel is different from the link to one particular performance video.
9. Add the video to your Video folder
Open your Video folder → Tap + → Paste the YouTube link
Paste the link into YouTube URL. Check the Title and add a short Description if needed.
The app can fill in the title from YouTube. You can change it to a clear name, such as “Garba performance in Ahmedabad”.
Tap Add Video. Check that the video appears in the folder and plays when you open it.
Use the title and description to tell an organizer what the video shows. For example, add the art form, event or place when relevant. A clear description helps the organizer decide which performance to watch instead of guessing from the thumbnail alone.
10. Open your portfolio again
Tap Portfolio → Choose Photos or Videos → Open your folder
Check your saved work here whenever you need to add more photos or videos.
You can change the folder’s Public or Private setting later. The setting applies to the whole folder.
Review your folders from time to time and add new work when you have something useful to show. Check that photos open and YouTube videos still play. This helps organizers see a portfolio they can actually review before deciding whether to contact you.
11. Share your work through your profile
Return to Home → Find Share Profile → Open sharing options
Send your profile to an organizer or another artist interested in your work. Keep the folders you want to show set to Public.
Your profile must also be public for others to view it. Check your profile privacy if someone cannot see your work.
An organizer can use your profile to read your artist details and view the portfolio you have made public. This gives the organizer a way to judge your work before contacting you. Keep your verified mobile number public if you want work enquiries on that number.
If a photo or video does not get added
- Photo access: allow the app to use your camera or gallery in your phone settings.
- Large photo: use an image no larger than 15 MB. Try a smaller copy if the upload fails.
- YouTube link: check that it opens the correct video and that the video can be watched.
- Plan limit: if the app shows a limit message, check your current plan.
- Upload failed: check your internet connection, then try again.
Folder and photo limits depend on your plan. Check the message shown in the app before adding more work.
