Artist Diary is a free platform where artists in India list themselves so that event organizers can find and contact them directly. There is no commission, no middleman, and no approval queue — once you finish registering, your profile is searchable the same minute.
Registration takes about five minutes and is split into three steps. This guide walks through each one and tells you what to put in every field.
Before you start
You can register in either place, and both work identically:
- The Android app, from Google Play.
- The website, at app.artistdiary.in, in any browser.
Keep a clear photo of your face on hand before you begin — you will need it in the first step.
Get Artist Diary on Google PlayStep 1: Your personal information
This step establishes who you are. Everything here appears on your public profile, so write it the way you want organizers to read it.
- Profile photo — required
- First name — required
- Middle name — optional
- Last name — required
- Gender — required
- Date of birth — required
- Mobile number — required
- Email — optional, and filled in automatically from your login
Upload a clear photo of your face, not a logo or a wide stage shot. Artists with a good photo get noticeably more profile views from event organizers.
Step 2: Your professional details
This is the step that actually gets you found. Every field here feeds the search that organizers use.
- Username or stage name — required. This becomes your profile link, so pick something you will keep.
- Art category — required, chosen from the 14 categories listed below.
- Art form name — required. Be specific: Bharatanatyam, Dhol, Oil Painting.
- About me — optional, up to 30 words.
Your art category and art form name are the exact words organizers type into search. The more specific you are, the more likely you are to match what someone is actually looking for.
Step 3: Your location
Artists are searched by location all the way down to taluka level, which is how organizers near you find you rather than someone four states away.
- State — required
- District — required
- Taluka or block — required
An organizer in your taluka searching for your art form will see your profile near the top of their results.
Your profile is live
That is the whole process. The moment the third step is saved, your profile is searchable across India — there is no review, no waiting period, and nobody has to approve you.
You can see what a finished profile looks like to an organizer here: Nikunj Modi's Artist Diary profile.
Which art category should you choose?
There are 14 categories, and you can pick more than one if your work genuinely spans them:
- Performing Arts
- Dance
- Music
- Visual Arts
- Photography
- Film and Media
- Content Creator
- Gaming
- Fashion
- Craft and Handmade
- Literature
- Event
- Health and Wellness
- Traditional Arts
Choose the one that an organizer would most likely browse to find someone like you, then use the art form name to get specific within it.
Frequently asked questions
Is Artist Diary free to join?
Yes, completely free. Registration is free, your profile is free, and Artist Diary takes no commission from your work. Money goes directly between you and the event organizer.
How long does it take to register?
About five minutes. There are three steps — personal info, professional details, and location — and your profile goes live the moment you complete them.
Do I need to wait for approval after registering?
No. There is no approval process on Artist Diary. Your profile goes live instantly once all three steps are done.
Can I register on the website, or only on the app?
Both. You can register at app.artistdiary.in or through the Android app on Google Play. They work exactly the same way.
What art categories can I register in?
Fourteen: Performing Arts, Dance, Music, Visual Arts, Photography, Film and Media, Content Creator, Gaming, Fashion, Craft and Handmade, Literature, Event, Health and Wellness, and Traditional Arts.
